Belchenfluh

The Belchenfluh offers a unique panoramic view. At the same time, it is a place steeped in legend. It is said that the Belchen triangle – with the Black Forest Belchen in Germany, the Vosges Belchen in Alsace and the one in Baselbiet – served for timekeeping and orientation in the times of the Celts. The stars, especially the sun and the moon, are the hands, the landscape is the dial of the topographical-astronomical clock. The vantage point on the summit of the Swiss Belchen lies on the border between Baselland and Solothurn.
