The circular trail starts at the Maloja Posta bus station. Passing the former studio of the painter Segantini, it leads through a sparse pine forest to the Torre Belvedere. The tower was once part of a castle with which the Belgian Count Renesse wanted to turn Maloja into a European top destination. Today the tower stands lonely in a nature reserve with marshlands and glacial potholes from the last Ice Age. After a long look down into the Bergell, we follow the path that winds north and east and leads back to the village on the main road after about an hour.
