The winter hiking trail crosses the railway line of the Rhaetian Railway, caution is advised.
The trail is used by sledgers and pedestrians, please be considerate.
Tips and hints
Arosa strives to provide hikers with a well-developed and marked network of hiking trails. Please heed the rules and signposting.
- Pleas keep your dogs on a leash
- Please take litter and leftovers from picnics home again
- You will often see game on your walks. Enjoy the sight of these animals and respect their familiar surroundings.
- Leave trail markings where they are
- Do not use closed paths (winter sports report)
- Do not leave the officially marked winter hiking trails

Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
The Rhaetian Railway runs every hour from Chur to Arosa (also in the opposite direction). When you arrive at Arosa train station, you catch the bus direction Untersee and leave the bus at the bus station "Untersee" where you'll find the starting point of the hike. If you'd like to start the hike directly at the train station it's about 15 minutes to the starting point at the "Untersee".
In Litzirüti the hike ends directly at the railway station, from where you can take the hourly train back to Arosa or to Chur.
By road
From Chur along the winding Arosastrasse to the end of the valley to Arosa. Turn left at the gas station (entrance of the village) in direction "Untersee" or leave your car at one of the parkings in Arosa and continue by bus/foot.
In Litzirüti the hike ends directly at the railway station, from where you can take the hourly train back to Arosa or to Chur.
Parking
At the entrance to the village there is a large signs indicating the various parking options. We recommend the Obersee car park.
