The circular trail gran giro del lago is about 8 kilometres long and includes almost 700 metres of ascent and just as much descent. The hike takes about 4 to 5 hours for experienced alpine hikers. The route is partly exposed and often equipped with chains and iron steps. Is important not to suffer from vertigo if you want to enjoy this trail. In two places you have to cross glacier streams on narrow footbridges. The middle section in particular leads through pathless, rocky terrain where sure-footed walking in difficult terrain is required. The route is marked in blue and white. Where there is a danger of falling, chains are attached in most places. Experienced and sure-footed alpine hikers can also walk the trail without a via ferrata set. Less experienced alpine hikers should equip themselves with a climbing harness and via ferrata set for self-securing. A climbing helmet can also be useful.
