Monte Rosso, Cima di Val Bona, Monte del Forno - 3-peak route around the Capanna del Forno
This round of almost 17 km and 1700 m ascent is a perfect day´s destination for fit ski mountaineers when the conditions are good, especially since you can climb three peaks in one day. It is of course also possible to skip a summit. During the route you switch back and forth between the Swiss-French border several times. The views of the Bergell Mountains are unique and you can´t stop being amazed - Piz Badile and Piz Cengalo in the west, the entire chain at the end of Vadrec del Forno with Cima di Castello, the three Torrone peaks, Monte Sissone , the north walls of Cima di Rosso and Cima di Vazzeda and the all-out-top Monte Disgrazia in the southeast. At all three peaks of Monte Rosso, Cima di Val Bona and Monte del Forno, you usually make a ski depot below the summit and cover the last few meters to the summit over partly exposed ridges with crampons and ice ax.
