The tour begins with the descent westwards to Vadrec del Forno.

Once you are ready to climb, follow the eastern lateral moraine of the glacier southwards until you can turn towards Cima di Val Bona. At an altitude of about 2700m its time for a next change of direction: Now you go north-east, over the beautiful Monte Rosso south-west flank. Thanks to its sunny exposure, you might encounter slush snow, especially in spring. Finally, one reaches the summit with or without skis via the upper south-west ridge or the western slope.
