At 3375 m, the Cima di Castello is the highest elevation in the Forno area, a wonderful hut-connecting route with a summit with great views

Vertical granite walls in the east and south characterize this beautiful summit. In spring this is a popular route due to the beautiful, varied descents. You start from the Capanna del Forno with a descent to Vadrec del Forno. Then you climb the flat glacier to the south-west into the basin and then turn north-west in front of the gigantic rocky backdrop of the Torrone group and climb to the Passo dal Cantun (3253 m). From the pass you then briefly descend to Bocchetta dal Castel (3106 m). Then it goes uphill again over the western flank of the Cima di Castello (3375 m) to the wide summit plateau. At the summit you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view. Then you drive over the Bocchetta dal Castel and the Cadrec del Castel Nord to the Capanna da l´Albigna (ascent to the hut). If the conditions are good, you can cover the entire route with skis and do not have to walk a section with crampons.
