The mountain hike from Maloja to Bivio is one of the most spectacular mountain pass hikes in the Alps – and right at the top of the pass you will find Europe’s special triple watershed.
There is something really special you can marvel at on the Lunghin Pass after you have managed the ascent through scree landscape from Maloja: the triple watershed. To the east, the water flows into the Inn and via the Danube into the Black Sea, while to the north-west, it flows into the Julia and then the Rhine, which ultimately joins the North Sea; and to the south-west, the Mera flows into Lake Como and then via the Po into the Mediterranean. The pass is surrounded by a vast mountain landscape shaped out of debris and scree, while the ascent to Lägh dal Lunghin and the descent from the Pass da Sett to Bivio takes you through mountain meadows and along picturesque streams.
